Website in a Box Template: Website Launch Checklist

Final steps to review before you launch your Website in a Box

You’ve customized your site, and you’re almost ready to go live. This checklist will help you confirm that everything looks polished, works properly, and is ready to be shared with potential clients. No need to aim for perfection—just make sure the essentials are covered.

1. Review All Pages

Make sure you’ve updated the content on the following:

  • Homepage: headline, intro, call-to-action
  • About Page: your story, headshot, values
  • Services Page: offers, pricing, FAQs, CTA
  • Contact Page: email address, calendar embed, contact form (if using)
  • Testimonials Page: client quotes, names, and titles
  • Lead Magnet Page: opt-in offer, form, redirect to Thank You page
  • Thank You – Lead Magnet: confirmation message, image, CTA button with file or redirect link
  • Thank You – Call Booked: confirmation message, image, CTA button
  • Resource Library: resource titles, overviews, images, and download or purchase links
  • Legal Pages: Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer
  • 404 Page: custom message and button to return to the homepage

2. Test Your Forms

Submit a test message on every form, including:

  • Contact form
  • Lead magnet opt-in

Confirm that:

  • The form submits correctly
  • You receive an email notification (check the Email settings in the Elementor form widget)
  • The submission appears under Elementor > Submissions
  • The redirect takes the user to the appropriate Thank You page

3. Test Your Booking Calendar

On any page where your calendar is embedded:

  • Confirm the calendar loads correctly
  • Submit a test appointment (then cancel it)
  • Confirm that your scheduler sends a confirmation email
  • If you’ve set up a custom redirect, make sure the Thank You – Call Booked page displays properly

4. Proofread and Check for Errors

  • Fix any typos or placeholder content (like “Lorem Ipsum”)
  • Check all links and buttons to make sure they work
  • Ensure every page has consistent spacing, fonts, and tone

5. Check Mobile and Tablet Views

In Elementor, preview each page using the responsive view:

  • Review the layout on tablet and mobile
  • Adjust text size, padding, or image placement if needed
  • Click Update to save your changes

6. Publish All Pages

In Pages > All Pages, confirm that:

  • All key pages are published (not marked as Draft)
  • You’ve deleted or renamed any placeholder pages
  • Legal pages are published
  • Thank you pages and Resource Library are published (if you’re using them)

7. Review Navigation Menus

Visit your site and click through both menus:

  • Main menu at the top
  • Footer menu with legal links

To update menu items, go to Appearance > Menus. Remove links to pages you’re not using, such as the Cookie Policy or Disclaimer, if not needed. Add links to your Resource Library if you’d like to make it public.

8. Save a Final Backup

Once everything is complete, go to Settings > UpdraftPlus Backups and click Backup Now. This will save a clean copy of your finished website that you can restore if anything goes wrong later.

9. Launch and Share

Once your site is ready:

  • Add your website link to your email signature
  • Share it on social media, in your Facebook group, or with your email list
  • Let friends, colleagues, and clients know you’re live
