Is Your Branding Website Ready? (Logo + Branding Tips!)

Your brand is what draws clients to you. It showcases who you are and the transformation you can be for them. But branding can be tricky

In this blog post, we’ll break down basic yet vital aspects of branding to magnetize your ideal clients. Are you ready to gain clarity on what a professional brand looks like and how it benefits your bookkeeping business?

Let’s dive into it!

Your Logo

Apple. McDonald’s. Starbucks. These are iconic logos the world instantly recognizes for a specific service. You want to be just as recognizable!

But instead of thinking “What will make a great logo?” try asking yourself, “What will make a great logo for me?”

Ask yourself…

  • What makes up my service?
  • What am I drawn to? What am I not drawn to?
  • What style feels like me?

Here are 3 things your logo should have…

  • A symbol that shows who you are without words
  • The name of who you are
  • An icon of what you do

Remember: Your logo should have multiple variations.

For example, consider having a horizontal logo or a square, a transparent or solid background, or a full logo versus an all-black one. All of these choices affect how your logo will appear on all formats (such as your favicon or on a billboard). Choose wisely!

Your Color Palette

Once you have your logo, ask yourself who your ideal clients are. Now, what colors will attract them to you?

Remember: You want to be authentic. But it’s important to choose brand colors that also draw in clients. Not just colors you like.

Ask yourself…

  • What colors are my competitors successfully using?
  • What colors best represent my business and how my audience sees me?
  • How do I want my audience to feel when they think of me? Do I want them to feel confident, informed, or another emotion?
  • Is my brand fun, serious, or inspirational?

For example, color psychology tells you how colors impact consumers. Learn how to communicate your personality through specific colors and utilize their impact on your audience. The right hue or shade can cause someone to hire you over a competitor!

Typography

When it comes to your font, it needs to be legible. This may sound like common sense. But many make the mistake of selecting a font they feel just looks fabulous.

But, ask yourself…

  • Is it readable?
  • Would someone be able to easily read this in less than 3 seconds?
  • Does it connect with my ideal client?

Your fonts must be easily readable to ideal clients discovering your website. So ignore the fads of choosing fabulous-looking fonts over basic legibility.

Also, keep in mind, that different fonts connect with different audiences. Just like certain fonts repel certain audiences. Check that your font appeals to your target audience.

For example, a thin script font likely won’t be a good fit for a male-dominated industry like construction or the elderly demographic. But, it could be perfect for attracting women in their 20s-30s.

Images

You may not have the money to do a big brand shoot. Not many do – and that’s okay! But, stock images, while easy to get, aren’t really recommended.

Instead try this: get simple yet professional headshots. That’s all you need!

This can be you…

  • Sitting down at the table writing notes
  • On your tablet or laptop
  • Working with a client
  • Drinking coffee

Let your photos tell your potential clients that they’ll be working with a person. They just want to see your face and to know you’re real
